preloadImages makes it easy to preload any image, or a list of images. Just call $.preloadImages(['myimage1.jpg', 'myimage2.jpg']); and it’ll do all the work for you - preloading one image at a time. This is controlled via a queue, so images at the start of the queue are preloaded first.
$.preloadImages(['myimage1.jpg', 'myimage2.jpg']);
Normal usage: Add to end of queue and start preloading. $.preloadImages(['1.jpg', '2.jpg', '3.jpg']);
$.preloadImages(['1.jpg', '2.jpg', '3.jpg']);
Add: Add to end of queue, but don’t start preloading. $.preloadImages.add(['1.jpg', '2.jpg', '3.jpg']);
$.preloadImages.add(['1.jpg', '2.jpg', '3.jpg']);
Prepend: Prepend to start of queue, but don’t start preloading. $.preloadImages.prepend(['1.jpg', '2.jpg', '3.jpg']);
$.preloadImages.prepend(['1.jpg', '2.jpg', '3.jpg']);
Clear: Clear the queue. $.preloadImages.clear();
$.preloadImages.clear();
Stop: Stop processing the queue, but don’t clear it. $.preloadImages.stop();
$.preloadImages.stop();
Start: Start processing the queue. $.preloadImages.start();
$.preloadImages.start();
Direct manupulation Directly manipulate the queue as a normal array of image URLs. $.preloadImages.imageQueue
$.preloadImages.imageQueue
